Program Year 2021 Adult/Dislocated Worker Local Workforce Development Area Resiliency Grant

The Greenville County Workforce Development (GCWD) has been approved for a $375,289 Resiliency Grant award through the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW).  The Resiliency grant funds are authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA) Adult and Dislocated Worker programs and are made possible with the support of the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB).  The grant runs December 1, 2021 to May 31, 2023 and some of the planned uses include: paying security costs at the SC Works (McAlister Square) Greenville Center, professional cleaning of the SC Works center, purchasing PPE supplies, providing virtual career exploration resources to secondary schools and charter schools, purchasing equipment and software to enhance virtual meeting capabilities, conducting outreach and recruitment for the WIOA program, conducting a pilot program to evaluate a new job matching software program that improves employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other worker populations.
