SC Works Committee

The Services for Individuals with Disabilities Committee (CSID) assists with ensuring applicable provisions of WIOA and the Americans with Disabilities Act remain in compliance. Provisions include programmatic and physical access to the services, programs, and activities of the SC Works system, appropriate training for staff, and finding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Our committee is proudly represented by a diverse group of outstanding organizations, each bringing unique expertise and a shared commitment to our mission. These organizations contribute their resources, knowledge, and leadership to ensure that our initiatives are impactful and far-reaching. Together, they form a strong foundation that drives our collective success and promotes meaningful collaboration within the community.

SHARE helps people and communities exit poverty and achieve economic stability. They are a non-profit Community Action Agency that provides a wide range of services to low and moderate-income residents in upstate South Carolina, and have consistently helped thousand of families annually in its primary service areas of Greenville, Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties.

South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation provides services to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain employment. They offer career counseling, job training, and support programs designed to match people’s skills and interests with meaningful work opportunities.

By partnering with employers and community organizations, they help clients build independence and achieve their career goals, while also strengthening the state’s workforce and economy.

Greenville County Schools is the largest public school district in South Carolina, dedicated to providing students with a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. Serving a diverse community, the district offers a wide range of academic programs, extracurricular activities, and specialized learning opportunities to prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success. With a focus on innovation, community involvement, and student achievement, Greenville County Schools works to inspire and equip every learner to reach their full potential.

Weyland Burns, Director at Lifelong Learning

The Greenville County Library System is a public library network dedicated to serving the residents of Greenville County with access to knowledge, technology, and community resources. It operates multiple branches and a bookmobile, offering a wide range of services including books, digital media, educational programs, and research assistance.

Committed to lifelong learning, literacy, and cultural enrichment, the system provides welcoming spaces and outreach efforts to connect people with information and each other.

The Greenville Housing Authority in South Carolina is dedicated to providing safe, quality, and affordable housing for individuals and families in need. Through a range of programs, including public housing and Housing Choice Vouchers, the agency works to promote self-sufficiency and improve quality of life. Serving the Greenville community, it partners with local organizations to support residents with resources and opportunities for growth.

Jenneh Jones

The Greenville Literacy Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving adult literacy and education in Greenville, South Carolina. Through free and low-cost programs, it offers tutoring in reading, writing, math, English as a Second Language, and GED preparation. By empowering adults with essential skills, the association helps individuals achieve personal goals, expand career opportunities, and contribute to a stronger community.

Victoria Novak, Executive Director

The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) connects job seekers, employers, and workforce resources to strengthen the state’s economy. DEW administers unemployment insurance, provides job placement services, and offers training programs to help individuals gain new skills and find meaningful employment. The agency also supports businesses with recruitment solutions and labor market information to meet their staffing needs.
